Transforming Spaces: Diana Ribarevski, Director of Interior Design at Coco Republic, Redefines Residential Elegance

Diana Ribarevski, Director of Interior Design at Coco Republic, has long been admired for her ability to seamlessly blend high-end innovative design concepts while maintaining practical functionality. With over 20 years of experience in the field of interior design and construction, as well as having obtained an Honours Degree in Interior Architecture at the University of New South Wales, her multidisciplinary design background marks her success.

Diana and her team were key contributors to The Residences at Wahroonga Estate. Her role in the project encompassed leading the interior design team from conceptualization to execution, ensuring that every interior feature harmonized with the site’s natural charm and history while ensuring the elements of functionality were paramount.

Her approach to interior design for The Residences is a testament to her deep respect for the natural environment of the Wahroonga suburb, and its influence on her creative process. “First we understand the location, respect the presence that the site holds in its natural surrounds, we understand the local spirit and community, then we allow that awareness to guide the decisions, always reflecting on elegance and elevated style,” Diana explains.

This philosophy guided her team to integrate bespoke design concepts throughout the project. “The site is immersed in nature, it has a sense of history about it, a leafy charm and neighbourly spirit, and it is uniquely positioned. Great consideration was given to the occupant’s lifestyle, and the interiors give a sense of ease and charm to invite them home,” Diana reflects. Her meticulous approach ensured that the design not only met practical needs but also celebrated the estate’s exceptional setting.

Diana’s work was inspired by Wahroonga’s unique lifestyle and natural beauty. “When we consider selecting the materiality for the apartments, we were inspired by the lifestyle that Wahroonga offers. Nature is definitely something that drove our decision making,” she notes.

Diana and her team translated these intangible qualities—such as the area’s natural beauty and charm—into their design by thoughtfully choosing materials that reflect and enhance these elements, “We have utilised warm timber materials and the linear timber design language to enhance texture and visual interest, as well as the softness of the timber to balance the crisp whites and a handmade tile to add personality”.

Diana’s commitment to creating a seamless indoor-outdoor lifestyle allowed her to design timeless interiors that foster a strong connection to the outdoors.
